A journey through learning

I have been a BIG fan of lapbooking since last year. I have made some on my own but it is really nice to buy some where the work is already done for you. Rylee is at an age now where I can print it out and she can do it by herself. It is always a great hands on activity that reinforces what we have learned and a great reminder as well! The girls love showing off their creations at recognition night with our homeshool group. One of the BEST places I have found to by lapbooking materials and prepackaged lapbooks is A journey through Learning! Their research is awesome and the finished product is always top notch. Back to Homeschool!!

Here we go again! I am super happy to be back to school. I thrive on a schedule and feel much better when I know what to expect. This year we are doing some new things. Firstly, I am actually writing out lesson plans. In 5 years of schooling I never wrote lesson plans. We just did what was next in the book. The fact that we are using Sonlight curriculum this year forced me into it. I am so glad it did. I love having that checklist every day so I know we have accomplished our goals. The girls appreciate it as well because there is a beginning and an end point to the day that is clear. I am also teaching a coop this year to 10 children. I prepared my syllabus over the summer and I coordinated everything else around it. I have planned our vacation weeks as well. Yea for me! I am hoping this means we get to take a longer break next summer!
